Nobody knows for sure who is el primo Ramón.
Many people think that Ramon was born somewhere in Galicia, but soon the hazards of life forced him to cross the Atlantic. Based in Buenos Aires, after having failed in his attempt to to make a living as a left back for Ferro Carril Oeste and as a bassist of Los Desconocidos de siempre, he learned the trade of illustrator in a handful of ateliers in the neighborhood of San Telmo.
Others believe that behind that pseudonym Borja López Cotelo is hidden, a PhD architect who, given the stubborn insistence of the chief editor of Veredes, started publishing illustrations and finally, as the unfortunate Gregor Samsa, he woke up one morning from unsettling dreams and found himself changed in his bed into a monstrous illustrator. But this story does not seem very plausible.
Maybe that’s why other people say that, actually, Ramón is not a person but two, three, or even a crew as tumultuous and disparate as the one of the Pequod.
